Embedding histology samples with resin is ideal as contrary to embedding with paraffin mixes, embedding of non-decalcified samples is possible with perfect retention of morphological details as well as antigen formations. Also, samples embedded in resin preserve their mineral matrix as well as the cartilaginous and ligamentous tissue. Immunohistochemistry studies also shows that samples embedded with Technovit resins have a more sensible and specific immune activity than frozen sections embedded in paraffin which loose their integrin-receptor-immune activity due to exposure to high temperature and chemicals.
